Sorry for the extreme lack of updates, i've kind of lost the plot this past year with jafwachat, however to make up for it i've been working hard on making this the community site it's supposed to be! Hopefully we will soon have BT linkage and regular updates on the site in both news, from groove AND comics.

I've also been working on a JAMWAF online system to collate and edit every issue before publication. well sam has been working and i've found a use for it but you get the idea. so please look forward to jafwachat becoming more of a community site than ever before.

I guess the problem is that I lost track of the point of jafwachat and fighting for it has made me realise what needed to be done, also the comics I was down about for a while since I thought they had to be all about anime, but in fact they just have to be about what we in channel find funny.

Ok all, by now you would have heard about the #jafwa election where Nephi is holding a election to vote on your brand new JAFWA ops. Now the current operators considered this a insult and the resulting fallout left the channel with fewer operators, the problems are that the channel is not large enough to warrant such a elaborate arrangement and that one person should not be left to his own devices to decide how everything should be run. That is asking for trouble and Nephi has come forward and provided that in the form of this election. In all reality we don't want to be bothered with how the channel is run, we just want a fair go and leave everything else as transparent as possible i.e. never have this kind of crap passed before us again. Therefore what I’m proposing is really simple.

The above diagram couldn't be any simpler, we have three head operators who make all the decisions, then we have a channel owner that actually doesn't do anything except what the channel operators decide on. The idea is that two out of three operators need to agree to get something major changed in the channel. This will (hopefully) prevent any grandstanding or inflated egos. And most importantly get this crap out of the way and let us get back to ideling.

In short, this is what I believe we should do in channel

1. Nephi, Sonictail and Sonic Sabbath all decide on a neutral person to own the channel.
2. The trio all get 199 operator status
3. They run the channel, don't bother anyone else with this stuff and give other people operator status based on need not popularity
4. Never bring this stuff up again.

So in order to do this, you need to let Nephi know. it's rather simple, just join into IRC and send him the following line

Oh and for the record the Webcomics panel was fun, I ran it with Gooni from Bigger than Cheeses and Rex and Zach from Make with the Funny joining in. It was pretty cool to meet em and their comics are seriously worth a read. Also MWTF did a con repot avaliable Here

Also during the holidays I'm working on adding useful stuff to this site, i've let is slumber for way too long, so i'm thinking about what needs to be added. any ideas? apart from a waaay past better idea (I can't believe I designed the site!)
